It has a a general store (including a video/DVD rental service) a post office, a restaurant, an excellent fish and chip shop and a small park to name just a few. It is also serviced by a regular bus service to Truro and Newquay – the nearest town at only 4 miles away. Cubert really is a fantastic base for visiting all the attractions in Cornwall as well as a great place for walking along the dramatic coastline of Northern Cornwall.

Eating Out in Cubert
Cubert has its very own restaurant in the village centre. A small family run restaurant open throughout the holiday season serving good food and only a couple of minutes walk from the house.

Surrounding Area
Lifeguards on the beachNewquay is Cornwall’s most popular and liveliest resort with many fine beaches. It is also a major centre for surfing and home to the renowned Fistral beach. There is plenty to do in Newquay with its own zoo, golf course, Trenance Leisure Park, Waterworld, Blue Reef Aquarium, Tunnels Through Time and plentiful night life. There is also an annual Balloon Festival (weather permitting).

Nearby there is also the Elizabethan Trerice Manor (National Trust), Dairy Land Farm World, the Screech Owl Sanctuary and Lappa Valley Steam Railway, as well as the St.Mawgan Japanese Garden & Bonsai Nursery.

Eden ProjectThe Eden Project at St Austell, one of Cornwall’s newest and most fascinating attractions, is also within easy reach of Cubert – only around 20 minutes drive. A great day out for everyone and a must see for those who haven’t visited already.


The Minack TheatreThe Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is also one of Cornwall’s must-see attractions and only an hour’s drive from the house. The theatre is outdoors on the edge of a cliff and is a fantastic place to take in a play or just to visit during the day.
